| From the beginning, Waterloo has been an outward-looking university, aware of and responsive to the needs of society. In keeping with this, they have been very supportive of their students who have participated in our programs.. They have provided locations for our volunteers to hold information sessions, slide presentations and fundraising events. As well, several departments have made financial contributions to past volunteers to help them get abroad and make a difference. | |||

Teacher-led Groups
For teachers who wish to bring a group that wants to "travel with a purpose," we have special programs and rates. A group of volunteers working together with a shared vision can have a lasting and positive impact in a short period of time.
There are a wide range of opportunities for group projects. Schools, homes and medical clinics need to be built; trails need to be cut; trees need planting and wildlife conservation programs need assistance. Those are just a few of the opportunities available.
Project Centered Programs are pre-planned programs in place and ready to be implemented. All that is required is a minimum number of volunteers (usually between 8 and 20) to get the project of the ground. These projects have clear objectives, with a well - defined outline of the work that needs to be completed.
Specific goals and objectives of the group can be incorporated into the project through a consultative process.
Our field staff also manage leadership and adventure programs. Canopy tours, rock climbing, high altitude trekking and mountain biking are just some of the adventure activities we can arrange, while facilitating an experiential learning environment.
